I have been playing around with kinesio taping on my left knee which has some patellar issues.
I started last fall at the Ride for the Roses where there was a booth with a guy promoting the process (along with his book).
He taped my knee and I rode the weekend in much greater comfort than I had in a while. I have since ridden both taped and untaped with the taped generally being more comfortable on longer rides.
I ride untaped for two reasons. First, a concern that riding taped all the time might cause a reverse effect and weaken the knee. Second, because I have read conflicting article on the validity of the process and the long term effects.
Can any of you MD's or PT's who have studied the process give me your 2 cents on if you think it's a good thing or a bad thing.
Thanks,
BK
