I know the word 'trail' raises some eyebrows, but if the Metro St. Louis area is in your travel plans, take a weekend to enjoy them.
Paved, city, country, college-town, both sides of the Mississippi River, the Great River Road - there's something for everyone.
Best 'put-in' location is the Metro East Parks and Recreation District at Horseshoe Lake Road & Ill. 157 in Collinsville, Il. Nice restroom, drinking water, air, and maps are available there.
