Have one listed locally, practically brand new, believe it's a 2008, fully rigid with SRAM X9 1x9, seller asking $800. Wondering a couple things, anyone know if the Salsa's ride true to size? Tried a Specialized 29er, believe it was an 18" and felt to be the right size. Really like the Salsa looks, but thinking it might be too big. Second, for a basically new 2008, is $800 too high? Seller included a link to Bikeman, selling the 2008's for a little over $1500.

price sounds good if condition looks good...

Salsa has a great "fit chart" here (http://salsacycles.com/bikes/el_mariachi/) ...

I made the transition from a large Specialized Epic (26" wheels) to a large Salsa Selma (29er) and the fit was pretty close to being spot on. TT was 5mm longer on the Selma and so I ran a 100mm stem instead of the 110mm I was using on the Epic.

Don't know if this helps but I have a large 2008 Salsa El Mariachi 29er. Fits perfect for a 6'2" guy. The new retail was $1600 equipped as you listed. Cannot believe how the larger tires roll over rocks, roots and logs vs. my 26. It is still rigid. My 26 is dual suspension but do not think I will ever have a need for a dual suspension 29er(overkill). IMHO The $800 is probably a good price depending on condition.

Really appreciate the comments. Sizing chart puts me at the very tip for fitting a large, I'm 5'11". Sounds like it's worth going for a look see.
