Just lovely place to ride. We have ridden for Five straight days about 220 miles and you can't ask for anything better EXCEPT its freaking windy as heck. temps in the 80's everyday so far, but lots of wind. Must tailor our rides so our prevailing winds are from our backs on or way home each day. Thanks Texas and we did Love the BBQ too :)

Never used the granny and we were riding tandem with a 28 tooth rear cog and 53/39/20 upfront.

Were you at Texas Hell Week by any chance? There were three couples from my area there.

Pete this place has Paso beat by a mile weatherwise except for wind :)

Food is good and cheap and roads are great. Next year I am bringing you and the Carolina contingent here :hello:

It's been abnormally windy the last few days...but then it's always windy to some extent in the hill country.

Not much car traffic and good roads make for great riding. Wildflowers should be nice too.

Nope, not enough rain in Oct/Nov and hasn't been much since then either.

That's too bad. There are some closer to Dallas.

Definitely very dry this year. 700 miles during Hell Week and not a single wet water crossing.

Same here – a little less miles but all crossings dry and not a single Blue Bonnet.

Smiley was right though – seemed windier than most years. First Saturday’s ride segment from Doss to Lukenbach was a bitch.

If you said you made it past Skyline Drive with a 39/28 I’d be very impressed. ;)

By the way, did you mean that to be a "20" or is that a typo?
