I think this has to be the most entertaining website I've ever seen.

I like this part of the blog: http://www.oyvelo.com/how_to_raise_a_jewish_dog

Excerpt:

OV: My dog is an asshole. For instance, I took him to an open field for playtime. It was going well until another couple and their dog joined us. The other couple brought water for their dog, as did I. Instead of drinking his water, Bowski drank the other dog's water. When he was through, he peed in the bowl so that their dog wouldn't drink it. What did I do wrong?

BD: It sounds like you might not be guilting him enough. You seem to have the praise down pat, but you need to guilt him more.

OV: I guilt him a fair amount.

EW: How old is he?

OV: Seven years, two months and 9 days.

BD: He should have outgrown this behavior. This is a problem we can't fix over the phone. You may need a home visit.

EW: I think he needs a Bar Mitzvah. He'll be fine once he's a man.

OV: Thanks, I'll look into it. Question for you, do Jewish owners have to pick up their dog's poop?

EW: Of course.

OV: Even though their ???? doesn't stink?

BD: Yes, because there are other factors to consider, like the environment and what the neighbors will think.

I like the vibe. Very mellow and silly. Hard to find these days on the web.
Even on this forum.

I thought it struck a good balance of irreverent, self mocking humor...advocacy and marketing.

The welds on that Segal bike are exceptionally ugly.

Yeah...not a bike I'd buy (I really avoid anything tig'd, though I love my Merlin).

Loved the site though.

maybe some inaccurate tube cutting.

tube cutting is an art in the Jewish tradition:

Are you guys sure that's a legitimate ad, and not a joke?

Number 1, as several people have already pointed out, the weld beads are hideous looking, but also, what the hell is the reason for all the additional weld joints at the BB (highlighted in red below)?

There's absolutely no need for those.

I think we'll all agree the bike is hideous...but the website is great.

I guess none of you own a Ventana then?

Those are gussets. They are there to add stiffness to the frame. Typically the ends of the gussets are left open, as complete welding can lead to stress risers, but many manufacturers have done it each way over the years.

The welds look properly executed to me, with the possible exception of some undercutting at the top of the seat tube gusset.

I'm fairly certain they're really selling bikes. They claim to be magnesium...perhaps it's some sort of two part chainstay that's welded together?

The Segal I rode most of last season was without a doubt the finest Israeli-made magnesium road bike I’ve ever had the occasion to try. That’s an admittedly subjective statement, but I feel pretty sure I can back it up...

How many israeli-made magnesium road bikes are there? This might be the only one and maybe the only one he has had the occasion to try.

I think that was humor...it's subjective but he thinks he can back it up (it's likely the only one).

looks like someone should have had a GPS to use while welding.

That's a funny site, I like the pics of GWB testing the bike out, and the training wheels in the background. LOL

If the satisfied customer in the black dress is Trish, I'd forgive her the line.

A Jewish lawyer who likes bikes? Talk about the perfect woman!
