I will have to admit that I was not very knowledgeable about hydrapacks. Camelbak was all that I was aware until I started researching. Someone mentioned Osprey after I had looked at several brands and was almost ready to buy. I am glad I looked at one more.

Go to the Osprey Packs website. It and these videos can explain the features better than I can. There are also many detailed reviews. Search Osprey Raptor and Viper/Verve review.

Here is the best video and happens to be the model that I purchased.

I had never heard of them either, then a couple months ago I went into REI looking for a backpack and the salesperson showed me one. I was impressed. Nicely constructed and very well thought out. Regardless of the pack you have interest in (hiking, back packing, commuting, messengering, etc.), these appear to be consistently a cut above the competition.

I own the Raptor 10 and it is a great pack. Does everything great. It's perfect for a all day endurance race/ride. Plenty of room for a bunch of stuff.

Great. It is good to have the opinion of knowledgeable folks with only good intentions. My buddy and I are going to do a Century in mid-April and the 160-mile, one day Ride Across Indiana in July are the types of rides that I purchased it for. I will also use it on Smokey Mtn. hikes.
