Doc D and I touched briefly on this crit held over Memorial day. We are very fortunate to have 4 racing events every Memorial day weekend. A road race on Friday, and 3 crits, Snake on saturday, Weed Park on Sunday and Rock Island on Monday. Great racing, lots of talented riders, I corner marshall in Rock Island. I'l get some pictures tomorrow I'm at the start finish crossing :D . As for Snake Alley this hill is sick 40 plus went up 8 times I think, the 1-2-pros go up 20 times. I had to get back for the fish fry next year I'll post pics from the pro race. Anyone wants to race it next year give me a shout and I'll do what I can to help. For your viewing pleasure. Enjoy Frank

Its the Mississippi river valley your climbing out of. I think there maybe a couple hundred yards that are flat otherwise your either climbing or descending. They had a time trial up the cobble stone alley next to snake alley. Come on out it'll be fun Frank

there is more climbing along the mississippi than most folk can believe- they may not be long but the hills just never end

Great pix- thank

Hey those are great pictures! Check out the rider on the porsche bebe serotta. It looks to Michael Berman from the Alberto's Cycles race team based out of Highland Park, IL.

I'm not sure what his name is but that is a CIII and he rides for Alberto's. Talked to him just before the race and when I saw him coming up the hill I waited for the the next lap to get a picture. The F-3 fork looks very nice. If you know him I have better quality pictures I can e-mail. Very clear and in focus. I may run into him monday. Frank

Cool pics. I was able to recreational ride that hill during a cross country ride a few years back. It is definately a neat road.

The pictures of the snake part of the route are highly reminiscent of the Olympic road course. It is a cool looking course. Climbs like that are great because you can actually see somebody and compare against yourself. On the flats it tends to be a blur.
