What will these be called since "Over Sized" is already taken?

35mm handlebar on my 1'' steerer steel bike will definitely look wrong.

to watch and see what happens. i wonder how the transition from the fat part to the skinny part feels in the grip?

as a very very late adopter, fortunately I don't have to worry. having just installed 31.8 for the first time a couple of months ago, i'm thinking right around 2015 i'll be ready. time to stock up on the "old stuff" is right now.

I really dig the white bars & stem version of the Deda 35. Damn sexy!

I like the red set but my red bike doesn't deserve $500 stem/bar setup. However I too could use white set on my white bike... nah... I don't spend that kinda money on stem/bars anymore.

i think so too. it is hard enough finding NOS 26.0mm bars but it is worth the hunt as the look on 1" steerer bikes is really pleasing.

i guess someone will have to make oversize shift/brake levers soon so that the bars can stay big all the way down. Those are the worst pre-launch renderings i have ever seen of a product.

Something I will never use and hope it does not become the norm. After tape is added there is no way my little hands are going to like that bar.

Super size! oh when will the madness end, if 26 is sufficient, 31 is good, 35 is better then 56 would be the most awesome best

Exactly what problem is a 35mm bar solving other than low sales volume?

Excerpt from Deda Attacco 35 Stem product description:

"The diameter is the main factor of magnitude in the moment of inertia of the section of the handlebar. The
moment of inertia is what defines the rigidity of your handlebars - what all riders are looking for, as
insufficient stiffness causes dissipation of your precious energy."

I'm afraid number of cogs increase and handlebars get thicker.

they make pills for that.

i don't understand a move in this direction. it seems to me that most of the pro teams have all gone back to using 26mm bars. i would think that they, as a group apply more stress and torque to bars while racing than any of us do in our riding.

@EricEstlund ^

haha that picture says it all. I tried to think of something to say but that sums it up nicely.

they are fine with no bartape. and some taper in the drops to tape that section yet have a comfortable (yet large) grip diameter on top.

Makes sense? Maybe not, Lets just not have it be 40
