Know of any DIY repair shops / public work stations in the bay area? Here are the two that I'm familiar with.
There's the missing link, on university and shattuck in berkeley. (good hours, okay tool selection)
Also waterside workshops in berkeley (excellent staff, huge tool selection, crappy hours)
I'm specifically asking because I wanted to face and chase my bb shell and missing link doesn't have the tools, and waterside workshops isn't open today! Grr....That was the one thing left on my list before I can complete the build!

In terms of diy/coop things, there's also the bike kitchen in SF, Spokeland in Oakland, BicyCAL for those affiliated with UCB (although if you stop buy I'd be happy to help you out), the bike hut in SF, Changing Gears in Alameda, Community Cycles in Oakland, The Bikery in Oakland, and probably more that I can't remember off the top of my head.
The link is definitely great and all... but the free repair tools are extremely minimal.
Or, do you have any sort of connection with any of the LBS's near you? Bring in a 6 pack and I bet you they'd be willing to let you use their tools. I've done it!

Bike Kitchen in SF should have what you need be aware tho that you will need to pay to use the facing tool.

Mike's Bikes offers their shops to the public on ...Mondays I think. Maybe just the one in Berkeley.
Freewheel Hayes has a membership for $30 a year and gives you access to almost all their tools. Usually they don't let members use cutting tools unless they are 100% positive you know how to correctly use them.
They also have a day rate with is around $5.
They been open since the 70's so have a pretty great selection of both old, new and obscure tools.

Box Dog Bikes in SF has a membership program like Freewheel Hayes, although they won't let you use the cutting/chasing tools.
