I just received my 2003 Concours back from Serotta and couldn't be more pleased with the result. The original finish was bare ti, and after approx. 35,000 miles (year-round in New England) the frame was showing its age. The clearcoat finish on the seat stays is better than new.

Awesome.. I think I will probably do the same with my Concours eventually..

I don't know if I would want to paint it for New England use.. but damn Serotta paint looks so amazing.

RED is my favorite color for a serotta. I hope to be lucky to add one to my stable one day. Many more happy miles on yours!

I really want to do this for my wife's Legend (single color in Grasshopper & painted labels in Lambo Giallo) but at NAHBS I was told the current repaint wait is more than 6 months and they are not even accepting frames right now.

I'm torn about how to do the repaint or if it is even possible before summer.

Thanks for the compliments. I had Belmont Wheelworks handle the shipping. The wait time was a little less than six weeks. Planning to build it up with Chorus 11 speed.

I think Serotta did a magnificent job refinishing your frame!

While this may seem like a no-brainer, I think it's a testimony of Serotta's commitment to it's customers that they perform refurbs such as yours.

When I visited the factory I saw a bunch of refurb frames.. every single one of them was stunning like this one... pretty amazing... the frames have a lot of life in them.

The good news is that Serotta has a long backlog on NEW bikes to be built and some refurbs in the Q.

THe bad news is that I just checked and the earliest the painters can accept another refurb is JULY.

Yikes!
Are they that busy? or just under staffed?
First they show you an awesome rerurb which got me thinking about how
I would like to do mine over, Then they send 'ole Pete the hatchet man to
pull the rug out from under my dream!!

(just kidding, Pete)

I am older than dirt and it has been this way for as long as I recall (years).

Sorry.....

Bill and his team are still the painters and are working hard. The backlog is real and my new Ottrott is far off in the summer. :crap: I will be riding my ole Legend at the Ride the Rockies.....

I would like change the color of my CIII. What did it cost?

If there is only one paint booth and one drying room that is probably the limiting factor...

So if I did not want to wait six months, has anyone got a name of someone who could do a comparable job?
