When did the rear spacing change from 126 to 130? I just got some older Campy athena parts and am trying to figure out how old they are. The hub is 126.

Hi Shinomaster,

Technically 1988 was the first year for 130mm spacing. Shimano introduced the integrated 8sp with 130mm spacing. At the time they used beveled locknuts on both sides of the hub so that a 130 wheel would pull into a 126 frame. It took a year or two before frame builders and Campy responded to the new spacing. I think that your Athena hub must be from 1989 or earlier.

Hello there, Jeremy. I hope that all is going well with you. I have been using the wheels that you built me with the Nimble rims and Dura-Ace 10 hubs. I really enjoy them.

Please let me know when the new Nimble clincher rims arrive and you have had the opportunity to test them.

Hi Sandy,

Nice to hear from you as well. I am still waiting for the "noceum" rims. Unfortunately they are still living up to the name. I will keep you posted.

Y'all are killing me. Funny crowd.
Excellent folks at Nimble. I really enjoy converssations with them. Another case of good people doing good things. The world isn't such a bad place (repeating over and over to myself)

Noceum's will build into silly light wheels.
