Are there any in-line barrel adjusters made specifically for use with brake cables?

Or will a shift cable adjuster work just fine?

Thanks so much for your advice.

I will take the opportunity to share my experience with the Jagwire adjusters linked to on the Excel page. They sucked. I used them on a shift cable in conjunction with a Nexus 8-speed hub and the adjusters would self-adjust. They'd go for a month being fine, then for the next month, they'd self-adjust on every single ride. This happened on and off for a year. I switched hubs after a year and the same thing would happen. Temperature changes would make it worse. After switching to a regular down tube mounted unit, I haven't had to make a single adjustment. It's possible they might not have the same problems when used for brakes.
Jagwire also makes a version with a thumb screw adjuster. I haven't used this one so I don't know whether it would have the same problem.

I'll add I don't like the ones that go inline in the housing, but I really like the ones that go right on the end of your STI lever, the model I have used for the last few years is "Rocket Adjuster".

Although this does not help the OP, since he asked about brakes.

I can see how they might be more finicky when used with shifters which may have tighter tolerances, but I've been using them for brakes and have no complaints.
