DaVinci Cable Splitter Question

Does anybody know if you can split the cable housing and cables with Davinci Cable Slitters or is it just the cable that can be split? And where I might find a picture of the former if it can be done. :beer:

I use the splitters on my travel bike. As best I can tell, they certainly are not made to accommodate housing splits. That does not mean there is not a way to juryrig something.

Where and why would you want to use it this way?
