Well, yet another winter storm. Good day to post a bike for sale.

This is a bike I bought several years ago, when I first got back into cycling, and believed that 54-55 cm was the right size for me. It's a very early Super Record Export, probably from around 1982, according to Andy Muzi. The serial number is A27-545. It has a seat tube of 54.5 cm and as best I can measure, a top tube of 55 cm. Of course, given the age, it has a 126 mm spread between the rear dropouts, but does fit recessed, modern brake nuts. The frameset features the classic 3Rensho swept-forward fork crown and amazing lugwork. The fork steerer is 172 cm long, as marked. The frameset weighs 5.8 lbs. By comparison my new DeRosa Neo Primato (admittedly a bit bigger, a 57) weighs 6.0 lbs.

The frameset is remarkably free of rust, but there are a few small areas of superficial oxidation on the bottom of the top tube and the underside of the driveside chainstay. There is a shallow 1 cm ding on the side of the top tube that's difficult to capture in pics. And there are lots of paint touch-ups (Mr. Konno's creation seems very Italian that way...) in the black mica pearl finish. An ideal bike to ride, and if you do indeed fall in love, treat it to a re-finish.

It's impossible to know the correct asking price for this frameset... but before I put it up on eBay, figured I'd post it here. How about $500 and shipping?

This is the obligatory "Thwart is a great seller" post. Thwart is a great seller. You won't be disappointed with anything you buy from him -- unless you're some kind of malcontent or something.
