I just wanted to make sure I had my chainring compatibility correct before I took the plunge on some new cross rings. I have a NIB Ultegra 6600 SL crank with 53/39 rings laying around, which I'd like to use on my cross rig. These are 130mm bcd's, correct? Theoretically could I swap my standard Ultegra rings for Sram 46/38 130mm rings? Anyone ever give this a shot? Are there any compatibility issues I should be aware of?

Yes, your 6600 SL 53/39 crank is a 130 BCD.

Yes, the Sram 46/38 130 BCD rings will work just fine.

Are there any compatibility issues I should be aware of?I'd check to make sure the front derailleur can be adjusted as necessary. If clamp-on it should be OK.

Thanks for the advice. It's a clamp on FD, so no worries there.

I'd jump on the SRAM/Truvativ ring now. I had to buy one in the middle of cross season, and most people were out of stock and didn't know when they'd come across more.
You can also get the Dura Ace CX specific ring for 3 times as much. Pretty, though....
