When I finally got a pair of Giro's Monocco (sp?) gloves that were sewn correctly, they were awesome!
The problem is that I had to send 3 pairs back.
The benefit was that sending em back cut down on my glove tan.
Otherwise I've always dug the Pearl Izumi Pittards gloves.

Current Castelli Gel Pro are excellent! I bought the fancy Rapha, they look cool but was not that impressed with them.

Adidas Adistar gloves, followed closely by Specialized BG gloves.

maybe they are all now made this way, but i much prefer the straps velcro on top of my wrist, not underneath.

Adidas Adistar gloves....

with faux leather they call 'Adiprene'. Have 2 pairs, can't kill them off. They're no longer made, BTW

I just located my last new pair of Descente Competitions . They wear like iron with no Velcro and very light padding. I should start looking for some replacements as I believe they may have been discontinued.

I ride in cheap SOMA Fabrications gloves that aren't even made anymore.
Those, or my dad's ~25year old Pearl Izumi's. I want a pair of those Rapha leather gloves, but I don't think I'll ever spend $200 on some freaking gloves.
I don't like any padding in the palms and really hate the heavily gel padded gloves that make you feel like you're wearing a catchers mitt so minimalist is where it's at for me. I like the LG Air gloves (which I don't think are made any more) or any glove with no padding in the palms - they're hard to find as it seems like most people want super thick pads.

Does anybody know of a leather glove like the Rapha Grand Tours for something less than $100?
I'm a real fan of these old leather Pearl Izumi's, but medium was smaller back then...

Giro's LX (or Lusso) gloves. Phenomenally good, but still not cheap around $60. I love mine though.

I bought 10 pairs back in 2006 at $15 each, so I am covered for life, or close to it.

Well I don't wear gloves when I ride my road bike unless it's cold then it's the Defeet cotton glove and if it's really cold then the Pearl Izumi Elite softshell or the Pearl Izumi Cyclone glove. Both have windstopper and are super comfortable.
Mountain Biking I wear the Oakley Factory Pilot glove. No padding no velcro strap plane and simple the best glove hands down.
I like the PI Pittards for summer and warm days. Been suing them for the past 5 years or so. I just picked up a new pair of PI Barrier gloves w/Pittards leather palms for cold rides. They are nice and warm. Good for commuting.

I used the Assos 3 glove this winter. Absolutely loved it. I'm very into the comfort, quality and grip of the intermediate glove. Worked very good for CX. During the summer I alternate between the Assos summer glove and some heavily gel'd pare of Specialized BG gloves for rattling, bumpier rides.

Cannondale All Season for a while, but ripping them caused me to go with the Pearl Izumi Cyclone. They keep my hands warm when it's cold. :)

team csc gloves by descente. Super thin, sticky and no velcro straps to deal with.
Unfortunately because they were so thin, I ripped them while putting them on one day. arrgh.

I love my Zeros, too, BUT... I won't get another pair.
There was a thread here last year about customer service (good and bad). A number of posts concerned Giro's crappy (nonexistent) QC on their gloves; mine was one of them, although my main beef was about Competetive Cyclist's glacial response to my return of the defective Zeros. I finally got the credit on last month's credit card statement, six months plus after returning the gloves. But I digress...
Unpadded gloves are great, and hard to find. My next pair (or pairs) will be from a brick-and-mortar retailer, though.

I grew up in the former glove manufacturing capital of the world...Gloversville, NY.
VERY little leather work does still happen there now, as you can imagine, the work has moved to Asia and South America.
I'd like to see Serotta partner with another Upstate NY company/manufacturer and make a better than Rapha glove with a big "S" on them!
Anyhow, the Navy still buys some gloves made there. Kinda cool.
