Question on Mtb brakes.....

Just picked up some used Magura Louise hydraulic brakes (thanks Liberace)....I have brand new XT rotors that I sort of inherited and I have the used Magura rotors that came with the brakes.

Aside from the sex appeal factor, which magura wins, which rotors should I be using? Is it better to match the brakes with the rotors? Will there be any differance in braking performance?

I am new to the MTB scene so any information helps.

Use the Magura rotors.

Some (most? all?) Shimano rotors are narrower than other brands.

Concur, run the Magura rotors. The width will be right for the brakes.

This is a good time to bleed the brakes and replace the pads if they are worn at all.

man, as a mtb newbie......I wish i knew more about this all.....I will have to make due with what I got for the time being
