Looking for a bed in New Orleans

April 7-12.

Headed to New Orleans for a conference and I am on a grad student budget.
Just wondering if anyone has an extra bed (or even a couch) close enough to downtown for a commute to be manageable.

A spare bike and someone wanting to do some riding would be a HUGE bonus!

No recommendations for a place to stay. But whle you are there, Bourbon Street is a must (but sleazy). Royale Street is a nicer walk. Pat O'Briens is the hurricane place. Cafe de Monde is de rigeur for beniets (sp?). Harrahs to watch the Super Bowl and losing coin, and Jackson Square for walking around. The Band at Preservation Hall varies and is always good. . Also, on any corner there are people playing songs that may sound better than anything you have ever heard before.
