I think it looks great - very classy.

Thanks. I guess sometimes I think it looks a little boring with just the two colors but I can't think of a way to make it look any better.

not at all. White hoods = good.

Not sure about the yellow banded tyres though, I think gumwall would look classier.

Very nice.

To answer the question, maybe, but I'm not sure what I would change. Perhaps black brake hoods would tone it down just a hair. If there is too much white, there isn't much too much. White wheels would have been over the top. Maybe red toe straps if you can match the frame? Red cable housing may work, but I'm not sure.

However you tweak it, it does look quite nice as is.

How about silver rims?

Silver rims and red nipples :p

Agree about silver rims and a tire change to either solid black or gumwalls. There wouldn't be so much contrast to the white items. Plus it would show as an instant classic-look.

I was thinking about swapping out wheels. I dont have any extra wheels with campy record hubs, except these high flange hubs that are on another bike.
Also I don't really mess around with tubulars (which these are) so swapping the tires is more of hassle than I want to deal with right now.
Keep the suggestions coming its nice to get another perspective.

Not too much white, not to my eye anyway. But I'd ditch those yellow-stripe tires if it were me.

Nah, it look great. Just don't put white tires on it.

That amount of white is very period appropriate, and looks good, IMHO.
Agree with others that silver rims would 'classic' it up. Believe it was the early 80s that dark rims first came available, so they are appropriate too...especially with the aero brakes.

Definitely not too much white on it.

...and after your first ride, there'll be even less!

There were lots of bikes with that kind of white back in the day, looks classic to me.
But what are those things dangling from the pedals?

Can never have too much white - especially on a classic like that. Check out the Daccordi I posted in the gallery the other day - could be brothers from another mother ;)

the yellow-striped tires are ghastly. lose them.

blackwalls would be my choice.

I think it looks awesome and really like how you did it. That being said, the issue is really if YOU think it has too much white.

Not really too much white. I think it would look better with all black tires and a Black or White Rolls/Regal.

But very fine just the way it sits.

I also think it looks good. Silver rims, gumwall tires but NO red nipples.

There can never be too much white or silver on a road bike.

I haven't changed anything on this bike yet except the super ugly purple camo bar tape (to white) and I put white toe straps. I just picked it up a couple of weeks ago with a box full of parts and only rode it a couple times.

I've had the flu on and off for those two weeks (yesterday was actually the first day I got on a bike in 2 weeks because of it)! Feels good to be back.

Alright, I guess the consensus is to ditch those tires and I agree. They are tubular and I dont really mess with tubulars. I don't live in a particularly nice neighborhood so theres glass all over the street so tubular tires aren't very appropriate. They are nice tires though, I might paint the yellow stripe black just to make things easier on me.

If anyone has a pair of wheels with 80s campy record hubs I might be looking to buy them to throw on this. Clinchers preferably.
Thanks for all the input

Silver rims would be a bit more classy/classic for my tastes, but a beautiful bike nonetheless. I would say it looks great as it stands.
