Hmm. Looks okay, but Sora shifters are $100, FD and RD are like $50 combined?

Perhaps not as light this Forte option, but at least you leave the door open for upgrades to other Shimano parts in the future.

What could you possibly have missed in several years? Let's see...

- Campagnolo or Shimano?
- or SRAM?
- 23c tyres or 25c's
- steel or crabon?
- are Ksyriums too stiff?
- fixed or gears?
- Serotta or any other bike in the universe?
- is RS still taking orders or has he closed his list?
- did Lance or didn't he?
- 53/39 or compact?
- who really is the bikesnob (well at least that one's been solved)
- what happened to fixed?
- what happened to some other people?
- should Contador have waited for Schleck?
- did Contador or didn't he?
- did Cancellara have a motor in his frame?
- should Liggett/Roll etc retire from commentary?
- does my ass look big in this?
etc

welcome back

for the record, my teammate has the microshift arsis groupset (they're compatible with shimano) and he swears by them.

Yep.

And at least it functions consistently and with reasonable effort and throw distance...

The Microshift stuff is frankly garbage. I've had sets from two sources, both claiming "improved over original" and bot worked like something was wrong from the get go and got worse.

In fairness, I didnt try using the rear mech on someone elses levers.

They are not bad at all, I would put them alongside 5600 105 I have.
Installed them on this machine. The hoods look huge but they are a God send when doing a long steady climb.
Pez I have had them on two different builds going on a year and nary a problem.
I won't put them on the same class as Campy or Ultegra but for someone strapped for funds these things rock, IMHO.

don't know if he actually designed them, but eric sampson (sampson sport) had some role in this i think. he worked hard at getting a gruppo together only to find he couldn't compete with asian cost structures. got it reintroduced at some point, but i think the original design might have come from taiwan.
