i have been what I guess would be considered a lurker on this forum for several years. I would like to ask bicycle related questions to someone that has been through this surgery. I asked this question over a year ago but maybe someone since has had the Hemi which is the ball of the shoulder replaced.

No but I had surgery to fix shoulder impingement which involved disconnecting my deltoid so the doc could get into the shoulder joint with his saw and power rasp. The rehab was several months of pain and hard work but the shoulder is like new.

I thought this thread was about a 71 Plymouth :)

I'm not sure but I don't think you could buy a '71 Plymouth with a hemi. That was when smog rules really crushed almost all the high performance engines.

Not to hijack the thread ……. 1971 was the last year for the 426 Hemi and was used in several Plymouth models.

I’m interested in learning more about shoulder problems and related fixes so I plan to follow this thread as it develops.

How did a 1971 hemi perform relative to a 1968? 1970 was pretty much the end for high compression engines from GM. Was a 1971 hemi still high compression or had it been neutered too?

425 gross HP with two 4-barrel carbs. As far as I know they were the same.

Serious tuning-down of engines didn't take place until 72 and really hard in 73. Part of horsepower difference was due to switch from gross to net HP, but emissions took a big toll too. My '73 Mach I is a HP joke. ;)
