An uncle has an older Porsche he'd like to sell (late 80's 911 Turbo) and I'm wondering if there's an appropriate forum out there where I could post an ad for him (he is not internet-savvy by any stretch). You know, a place where people are a bit fanatical about things....like the Serotta forum....

Do a search on FORUM and the 911 then sign on and look at classified or Porsche Club of AMERICA. Another depending on where you live in regard to the clubs.... the above PCoA will list local clubs.

Yep I tried that and found Rennlist also.

Most of those sites, appropriately, require active involvement and membership, not just using it as a classifieds listing. I don't have anything to contribute as a member to those sites, unfortunately.

Tex I'll send you a PM with details rather than here.

I've known the car since it was brand new, and yes I drove it occasionally when I was a teenager.

Life has other priorities for me right now, otherwise it'd be in my garage.

(the pic is not my garage, but I wish it was!)

As said above Rennlist and Pelican Parts forums are the most active for that age car. eBay and Craigslist listed in large cities might help, too.

Thanks guys. I just joined Rennlist. Turns out you can post an ad, if you pay a fee to join. Just did, e-commerce is an amazing thing.

Will do Pelican Parts next.

Ahneida I hear ya. This car should stay in the family--heck, I used to wash/detail it when I was a teenager! Would love to own it, but, alas, it's not meant to be. Can't get emotional about it. :crap:

+1 on this as a former '86 930 owner myself.. I believe that is an '87 based upon the brake light.. Guards Red is a classic color which will help.

I'm actually more fond of the A-Team van.

Guy, that's a Sportsmobile. They're incredible machines, made out in Fresno. It's been seriously tricked out, and was featured in a Maxim magazine article awhile back. If you race in SoCal masters events, you'll likely see it around (the owner won the masters RR in '09).

Here's another teaser pic of the P car:

Many Porsche purists consider the 1987 one of the best 911's ever, and there were some good years.

Wow, that is gorgeous! Please take another pic without that junker bike

OK, that van is A-Team meets Mr. T. Can we agree on that?

Keeping the Vette and selling the 911? Regardless, both are very nice.

That is a nice Turbo. Classic Whale Tail. I loved that car as a teenager, drooling from reading the magazines.

Is it true that you can easily lift the inner rear wheel while cornering?
