Wow she sounds like the perfect woman for a cyclist to marry. I am really rooting for her recovery. All of these attacks are senseless and tragic. We could really use her leadership right now.

Call and Answer by Robert Bly

Tell me why it is we don’t lift our voices these days
And cry over what is happening. Have you noticed
The plans are made for Iraq and the ice cap is melting?

I say to myself: “Go on, cry. What’s the sense
Of being an adult and having no voice? Cry out!
See who will answer! This is Call and Answer!”

We will have to call especially loud to reach
Our angels, who are hard of hearing; they are hiding
In the jugs of silence filled during our wars.

Have we agreed to so many wars that we can’t
Escape from silence? If we don’t lift our voices, we allow
Others (who are ourselves) to rob the house.

How come we’ve listened to the great criers—Neruda,
Akhmatova, Thoreau, Frederick Douglass—and now
We’re silent as sparrows in the little bushes?

Some masters say our life lasts only seven days.
Where are we in the week? Is it Thursday yet?
Hurry, cry now! Soon Sunday night will come.

my sentiments exactly. That's why he gets the big bucks for being a poet.

I think this man is a national treasure but is almost unknown by mainstream culture. It really is a shame.

The words our followers choose to follow matter
The words our leaders use to lead matter
It does not matter if they were uttered
by a tea party member, Obama, or Sara Palin

What you thought were gunsights on a national map of democratic
congressmen were actually survey sights

Why is making this distinction so important?
Does it really matter

When the people are ready to lead
our leaders will follow

She's got great taste in bikes. Let's hope she's back on it soon.

Nice try.

He could tell the future? he was following Giffords since at least 2007, long before any map was created or many knew of the future VP candidate.

I saw on a BMW motorcycle forum that she rides a BMW too. Heck of a well rounded woman there.

Thanks, that pretty much sums it up. If it wasn't for cycling......
