Building my brother a "new" bike over the holidays: PRICELESS
although I did charge him quite a number of beers for the labour as well as some exceptionally good red wine
Not to mention: When I visit, I get to ride it!
I just have to say, we had a good time looking at framesets over the past few months and a really great time building this one. Since last year, we built one for his oldest son, I guess it is now sort of a holiday tradition. Considering, we live 6 hours apart and see each other only about 4 times a year--these kind of shared experiences matter! Thanks to everyone on the forum (many have been patient about fielding bike inquiries that never materialized into purchases), and thanks to Serotta for connecting us all!
On a slightly different note: Having never seen an ottrott up close and in person, I now understand why everyone raves about Serotta's attention to detail. WOW! The bike is a work of art; looking forward to borrowing it.
PS: Apologies on the "garage door pic." His door is black???
