I'm sorry to hear that Louis. I remember him well from the 80's. BTW, I think he used the less traditional "Gerry" spelling.

I read that he'd been taken off life-support about a month ago.

My favorite Rafferty tune (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uA20Z_6H4v4)

I was reading a little about him a couple months ago and was saddened by what I read. It sounds like his rock-bottom cost him his life.

Whenever I hear Right Down the Line (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sedPivIxfM) I'm taken back to Yokosuka, Japan and the Navy Exchange there in December, '78. Funny how music has a way of doing that. Baker Street puts me in my parents' 1973 Ford pickup on a road-trip to Michigan's UP.

He was much too young at 63.

He was able to hit it Right down the line. I love that song so much. I sing it to my wife whenever its on the radio. I am not a words person so I always
mess up the words. Its so sweet. The playing is so soft and quiet but soulful.

I find it odd that he was Scottish. He sounds so American to me.
A musical chameleon?

RIP Gerry
