There are bargin prices for 2010 Campy equipment. So I'm curious to hear from someone with knowledge of the changes made to the 2011 models.

Those prices on the 2010 equipment are great, is it worth paying full price for the 2011 Chrous and Record equipment???? :hello:

Can't be that much can it?
I've not heard many complain , "This 2010 stuff is bad."
Anyway I'm still riding 10 'cause I'm broke.

The 2011 stuff has some red graphics. Good for a 12 watt boost.

I don't know much that's different. Supposed to be better shifting rings, and you can get a dual pivot rear brake again.

read through this presentation for the changes.

then decide if it is worth it for you.

i just bought a 2010 Chorus 11 on closeout for a build. and my Serotta is mostly Centaur 10, still plenty good enough for me.

I say stock up on 2010 models if you're going to jump to Campy 11 on a budget. I don't think the differences between model years warrant the ridiculous price increases Campy is asking. Of course if you have the money, parts with red graphics are clearly faster.

I'm riding 10 because it ain't broke.

If you buy from the right sources, there is no significant price increase for 2011 parts.

The crisper clicking shifter (Chorus and up) and improved chainrings both seem good.

Of course Athena an below have been donwgraded with the new powershift levers and powertorque cranks.

Anyone wanting 10 speed ultrashift ergos better act fast.

2011 SR added ti BB spindle and an all carbon RD. Small changes to chainrings. 2011 Athena and below are back to Xenon type shift innards. They work fine, shift effort very light, one higher gear at a time with the thumb button. Crank spindle and BB is also different for Athena and below. Different way to do the same thing. I would not call it a downgrade.

Nothing wrong with 2010 or late 2009 SR/R/Chorus...all work well.

I would 'second' Dave's comments about pricing. If you search, you will find some 2011 groups that are very close in pricing to 2010 (within a hundred or two). I'm upgrating my 2005 Record to 2011 this year and from my research will definitely go with the 2011 Record group (note, with pricing around $1750).

I recently just did this same upgrade and couldn't be happier. I don't have any 11 speed experience prior to the 2011 group I just purchased. I really like the positive clicks in the new record shifters and was one of the reasons I went with the 2011 group.

I am on 2010 SR11 and still very happy with them.

I'm still on Campagnolo 14 speed...2 up front, 7 in back...good enough for Eddy, good enough for me(altho he maxed at 6 in the back).

The 2011 SR was marginally lighter, had a few more options (like Ti BB and DP rear caliper) and the graphic looked nice. I bought the 2010...I was able to get it a solid $300 cheaper than the 2011.

2010 wholesale was 1500 after 11 came out.
2011 was over 1800.

Campy went to hell after the Paris-Roubaix shifter was discontinued.
4 speed was all Fausto needed.

They really try to sell you on the "bi-color graphics".
