Having a devil of a time finding winter shoes that fit, and finally found a pair, but they are 3-hole (road) shoes, while I use MTB pedals.

Does anyone have any experience with the Shimano 3 to 2 hole adapter?

Any good, or is it too much of a compromise?

Thx

I put the crank bros adapters on my wifes shoes and they work fine

Other than the slightly taller cleat setup there is no compromise as to function. I suspect the shimano adapters would work just as well.

I have used the Shimano plate SH-85 as part of adapting to a leg length discrepancy. It holds up well and allows you to rotate the cleats slightly to fine-tune the release angle.

I tried a set of these so I could use my old road shoes in spin class with SPDs. The plastic cracked walking to the spin bike and never made one ride. I found a set of the old shimano adapters that are forged aluminum. They have lasted for a while, but they don't seem to be made anymore,
