It's a little known fact that St. Nick was once a trappist monk with a penchant for brewing the finest beers in the world. Fortunately, I was a very good boy this year and he decided to see some old friends in Belgium before making his way down my chimney!

I got a hand painted Heinekin mug from my mom from when she went to Amsterdam a few years ago. She had given it to my favorite aunt (who died from cancer this year). The mug looks great and has special meaning.

Aroma: chocolate taffy, tootsie roll, roasted malts, caramel, cocoa, licorice, burning, smoke, wood.

Visuals: Beautiful and elegant packaging. Well done sub branding. Pitch black body beneath a respectable tan head than thins, but stays. Lacing is beautiful.

Taste: starts with wholly roasted malt flavor, middles to earthy hoppiness, and begins a lingering licorice and spice finish. Delicious.

Palate: Starts carbonated and crisp, quickly middles to a wet roundness, and finish is a slow hoppy burn through the rear palate.

Overall: An amazing offering from the micro producer of macro brews. I hope they continue this trend. Very well done.

William, you appear to be a Sam Adams connoiseur. We had a bottle of the high dollar, high alcohol SA (comes in quart size bottle) for Christmas. For some reason, I've already forgotten what it's called.

I like Sam's Imperial White and Imperial Stout. But then I like a lot of different stouts.

Old Rasputin anyone?

Did they squish Mr. Squirrel to make that? :D Squirrels have been used as beer bottles, if not in the beer itself. ;)

The End of History, made by BrewDog of Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, has 55% alcohol content and is £500 a bottle.

The bottles have been made using seven dead stoats, four squirrels and a hare, said to be roadkill.

However, Advocates for Animals and Alcohol Focus Scotland both condemned the marketing.

BrewDog claims the beer is the world's strongest and most expensive.

What the hell did they use for yeast? When you make an imperial stout you use yeast that can tolerate the high alcohol content, bigger than that you use a champagne yeast but afaik no yeast lives at 110 proof.
