I read something indicating that Howard Dean left his church a few years ago in a dispute over a bike path. It didn't any of the details. Do any of you know the story?

If you look a little deeper, I doubt you will find any connection between dean and his 'church'. I do not think it is fair to bring religion into a political or bike forum. If you look at howard dean, he never, ever brings up religion; which in my opinion is a good thing.

But if you look at Vermont, you will find one of the best states in the union to cycle in. Vermont is great in so many ways. There are great roads, trails and paths throught the state. Car drivers and the police respect cyclists.

If he can make the country more like vermont when it comes to cycling, that would be a good thing. As Gov. Dean, he was good for vermont cyclists and all outdoor lovers.
