I'm trying to pick among powdercoat colors including beige (RAL 1001), light ivory (1015) pale green (6021) and pastel green (6019). I haven't seen any of these colors in person, and it's hard from the pictures I've seen to get a sense of how these will show up. Any insights on these colors or powdercoats in general would be greatly appreciated. Tnx

i think powder is under utilized. now granted, if you have a fine lugged frame and you are using more than one color, wet paint is the way to go. but on a tigged or even a filleted bike, powder can be really nice, and i believe much more durable. of course there is the question of how to deal with decals too. pretty sure spectrum powdercoating has dealt with all those things already.

i'd love to see a frameset like this one:

done in single color powder as close as possible to this wet paint. some powder coaters will also do wet paint accents.

i have powdered salsa quill stems and my kogswell p58 when i owned it. the powder was not gorgeous, but damn nice.

Yes - that scheme would be perfect. This is for a TIG-welded rig. Pastel green is high on the list if the powder coat looks like that.

Try this web site with the color selector on the bottom right.

There's a hardtail option on the site as well, if that helps you. I used it to select the color of my mountain bike frame, albeit a different brand, and I was pleased with the results.

Peter P - thanks. That's very helpful. I think I have it own to light ivory and pastel green.

It's still a bit of a roll of the dice. Find some parties you trust and let them make the final choices.
