Does anyone have any experience with the newer carbon Stronglight cranksets? I was considering the one of the newer carbon ones and have heard good things.

I believe the Pulsion or the Fission. I haven't ridden one for myself but I have heard good and bad things.

I've owned Vulcan, Pulsions and currently ride the Fissions on my Lynskey. The Pulsions were my least favorite but the Vulcans and Fssions have been bombproof so far. My only concern is the availability of th BB/bearing availability once replacements are needed. These pics are a bit outdated but you get the jist...

170. I tried searching on eBay but there weren't any Pulsions. Is there a reason you don't use the Campy crankset with your group?

I run 2nd generation Pulsions on one bike and love them. They're stiff enough for my 205lbs of out of saddle mashing on big climbs, they're light and you don't see them very often so the bling factor is cool as well.

I also have a set 2nd gen Stronglight Helion cranks I'll be installing on a build next week.

I did have a set of first gen "defective" Pulsions but never suffered the breakage that was common to the first gen cranks. You can identify the recalled first gen by the tiny checkerboard pattern in the carbon. The second gen cranks have a "marbled" look to the carbon weave.

I personally love the c2 rings and the looks.
