Handelbar shims

Has anyone shimed a 26.0 diameter bar to use an OS stem? Is this feasible?

Yes, you can get that shim from Problem Solvers directly and
many LBS's have it in stock.
I've been looking into doing that too as I have some 26mm bars
that I would like to use on an OS stem
I can't imagine that being a safety issue.
(people use shims on 1" steerer tubes all the time)
