As the title says, I'm curious if Campy 9 speed brifters -- alloy Chorus, especially -- can be converted to 10 speed. And if the answer is yes, how hard/expensive is the procedure? Thanks in advance for your time.

1999 and later only. First gen, pointy top 9s, Record and Chorus could not. 1998 could not either because the thru bolt/shift disc changed in 1999 to accomodate ERGO Brain..which stayed the same into 10s in 2000. You 'can' convert 1998 but only with a new set of innards, thru bolt, back bolt, etc., front to back.

Shift disc and 10s toothed bushing in the front..$65, $10 respectively. If I do the work, which is a complete takeapart, clean, lube-$40 labor. Shift springs are $5 per(2 of them, good idea at the time of disassembly). Fiber Ultra spring carrier, if ya need one-$15.

One day turnaround
