Probably a dumb question-- Can you use SRAM XO mtb shifters with a Shimano drive train?
Thanks, Chris

Front does not matter, but to the best of my understanding an X-0 shifter for the RD pulls a different amount of cable than a Shimano.

Of course friction-dt shifters will work fine with Shimano, SRAM or a Campy RD!! :p

yeah they pull a different amount of cable 1:1 and 2:1, but the good news is that all you need to do is change the R/D the you should be able to find a nice used or NOS X.O R/D for about 100 or less. and an X9 in the 40.00 range. I think I even might have one in the basement pm me and I'll look around for it
