How insignificant we really are...

Beautiful. Thank God for the iron core of planet earth and the resulting Aurora Borealis - proof that there is a lot of energy and that we could just as easily have a planet cooked by radiation...

Wonder if there is a way to harness some of that...

Makes one look up to the sky with awe. I'll bet night riding there would be spectacular, but cold.

I have spent several winter months in Yellowknife NWT, where they have some pretty spectacular displays. This was at least as good, and WARMER. For sure this shows how beautiful mother nature can be.

several years ago you could see this in harrisburg, pa; iirc it was on trick or treat night.

AB never ceases to amaze me - spent a year in fairbanks alaska and the night sky looked like it was draped with colorful curtains, folds in all -
