So here I am sitting around kind of bored and I think to myself, "Maybe it might be fun to join some kind of team, maybe somefast riding or a race or two." Problem is I'm not sure where to start. I live in nyc. Anyone know of some kind of team/organization/club/outfit/something where you can race a little and generally have fun. :D

You're going to start racing on that pretty OttRott of yours? You do belong to the owners club yes? That crash discount might come in handy!

The Century Road Club Association organizes races in Central Park. And Kissena has races out at the Velodrome in well, Kissena.

Ok now you have me scared. :eek: So.....ppl crash often..... :confused: And I keep forgetting to join that owners club. :crap:

Ok, if you ppl are trying to scare...ITS WORKING!!!:eek: But my bike is just begging me to race I think. It feels like its saying "FASTER FASTER! CMON!! HARDER YOU WUSS!!" :bike:

O and thanks for the info again Christian, the CRCA website is pretty interesting. :D

bike are tools- you use tools to win races- if you are afraid to lay the bike down- dont race it- Bikes look better with scars- chick dig them too

Even more insane, here's one from Boston, but it's a ... hold on now ... drinking race. This one the guy gets hit by the side mirror of a Civic, and the person in the Civic chases/follows him for quite awhile :eek: :beer:

Hey van just finished watching the nyc one. Yea I used to ride like that on my mountain bike. INCREDIBLY fun stuff. Gets the adrenaline pumping especially when you have a seriously near miss. I would ride like that again cept now I dont want to scratch the Serotta and I found out riding on my current route is faster and longer. But its incredibly fun riding through traffic. :D
