I read it. It's a decent article.

I wish more of the public would read the article. Including the cycling population.

I find it odd that cyclists in LA are amazed that I'm living here w/out a car.

----

Public transit in LA sucks . . . its the equiv. of public transit outside of Des Moines or Tampa.

Driving times suck . . . 75% of the time---90% of the time I would be moving through the city.

So much easier to ride.

I have been in LA many times. I always wanted to do from "LA to San Diego"

I saw this article a few days ago. While I'm no longer an LA resident, it provided a few nostalgic moments for me from my year of living and riding around that big-ass city.

How is the air pollution these days? I was living there for a 1 year period
back in the early 90's and I got depressed when I first got there
because the air quality was so bad. It made me want to leave right away.

I did enjoy riding my bicycle along the beaches there. The eye candy
was really spectacular.

Nowadays I think the air quality is pretty good most days - at least on the West Side ( maybe I'm immune ). Back in the days before strict pollution controls on cars the air was so bad you could cut it with a knife some days. When I was a kid I remember my chest aching after playing outside on most summer/early fall days.

p.s. nice article - thanks.

It's funny you ask. Whenever I drive from Northern CA to Southern CA I take Hwy 5. The moment past Santa Clarita which is after the Grapevine Mountain, I get depressed till I get to San Diego County. :D
