My church is looking for a new design for its website. We've been using a stock design template in a content management system. We'd like to have a nicer design done by a professional, probably still using a content management system so it's easy to update by untrained people.

We're looking for suggestions on how to find a designer and how much to expect to pay. The site is relatively small and does not need to do e-commerce. Here's our current site:

Thanks

Give Bumble Bee Dave a PM.

He did the Handlebra site in no time.

BBD sure has a talent for what looks correct. He really does.

It's like an IT ebay in reverse. You post the job you need, your budget, your timeline and you get bids/proposals from all over the world. Even though I can build my own websites, I've used elance to hire out many projects and have been pretty happy with the results. You can check out past portfolios and feedback history before you hire anyone. It's a good idea to know what you want to do with the new site so you can put together an RFP (Request For Proposal) so that providers know the scope of work involved and can provide a reliable quote for the work.

Thanks! Having a site likes this makes a lot of sense for both buyers and sellers.

Big thumbs up for elance - no offense to BBD, sounds like you have a good reference above. But elance has worked for me.
