Does anybody make a commuter specific garment bag? I'm looking for something or some ideas for carrying a dress shirt, pants, and shoes w/o everything getting wrinkled or dirty.

There's several on the market:

The Nashbar/Performance garment bag panniers get decent reviews, though if you have the cash Jandd makes a nice one and is generally a great company.

I used to have this one: http://www.twowheelgear.com/features.php

It worked well enough but I found the better strategy for me was to leave several pairs of shoes, pants, belts, shirts at work in a regular old garment bag hanging on my cube wall. Then daily I would bring fresh socks and underwear in a small trunk bag on the bike. On any day I had to drive the car I would resupply the big garment bag.

That Jandd one looks nice, but I'm wondering if it might be overkill for me. I was researching and came across the Eagle Creek Pack-ItŪ Folder 15. I thought about getting that and sticking it in a small pannier bag along w/ my dress shoes. Has anyone tried that approach? If it looks like rain I won't be taking my bike.

I use an Arkel Commuter bug for commuting. I leave my shoes and belt at work. The Bug will hold a towels, pants, shirt, underwear, socks, laptop, and a modest-sized folder filled/w paper. I don't have any problem with the pants and shirt wrinkling as long as I take time to fold them neatly.

If you're not wearing a suit/sportcoat, a garment bag is overkill, IMHO.

Leaving a pair of shoes at work cuts the size of your load a lot and increases your flexibility.

You can use any bag if you pair it with a Eagle Creek folder:

Also leaving some dress stuff in your office makes it a lot easier as well.

I like using the Arkel touring bags because you can open the entire bag up and lay your clothes flat in the bag. Either the t-28 (small) or the t-42(med). They come in pairs. I use one bag for nice clothes and another bag for shoes etc...
