I couldn't agree more Eric! Anybody hear from Jason lately? I haven't heard from here or across the hall in quite awhile now.

I spoke with him about a year ago I think. He was still riding and enjoying his family and doing very well. I hope he still is.

I liked all of those folks. I wish they cared enough about this community to stay.

We are in agreement on this as there were some very nice folks that were here who decided on their own to leave or not post as often. Miss their contributions.

But those who were banned, you can't be serious about this?

Mad props to missing DBRK and Fixed.

Archibald, Jerk, and the Doof are three others that had educational (or at least entertaining) posts.

The forum is less without them here. I guess one needs to dial into the Salon occasionally to get a dose.

Definitely miss DBRK. I learned a tremendous amount of all-things-bicycle from him. It was like taking an online course in Bicycles and Cycling. I think I owe him some tuition.

I miss Viper and Girlie. They were sort of overbearing, but they were both good to me. Bought and sold things with Viper, he had a beautiful de Salvo. Girlie was an ex pro racer. Respected their views. Hope they are doing well and would like to hear from each of them.

Keep in mind that both side of the hall are pretty muted. I put this to the state of the world beyond the confines of either forum.

Has anyone else noticed the difference in the last couple years across the boards?

Everyone has pulled back into their shell a bit.

That's how I see it. How about you?

That's a bit harsh IMO. Things change, people change, life moves on.

That doesn't mean they would have nothing contribute today and every now and then one might not wish to have their thoughts on a given topic.

true, life changes... and if any come back, I'd be OK with it... but, I won't say I miss anyone that leaves willingly...

Fair enough Louis, but fairly general. As for "one," if it's me, life is too short to wish to hear from a certain person on the list again -- a person who shall remain nameless because he was always, in a proper sense, nameless, but let's say that the handle for which we had no reference started with a "V." I can recall certain posts, an e-mail or two, and some links to some very unwelcome material. It's a big world, and to each his or her own, but the phrases "whack job" and "good riddance" come to mind.

That's all I'll post on this.

Perhaps in that case and few others (who left not of their own volition, but because they were pushed) but I don't think any of the dearly departeds I had in mind would be considered "whack jobs" by any reasonable person. Cliquish yes, which annoyed some, but not whack jobs.

With a backlog like his, I don't see how he has much time to hang out here or anywhere else.

Sorry to offend their fans, but good riddance to Swoop and Viper. Not funny, way too full of themselves.
Ginger and Spinsistah were cool.
