What is the difference between English and Italian threads for the bottom bracket? Does one of in clockwise and the other counter?
Thanks in advance.

Italian = both sides clockwise
english = drive side counter, non drive clockwise

Great...until it unspins due to precession.
Italian bottom brackets are stinky stinky in my opinion. It's the one thing I really don't like on my Pegoretti. Keeping the right side cup in requires either teflon tape, locktite, or torqueing it HARD. No such problems with the english design.

Talk to MadBiker man, he's my guide in these matters ;) The guy attended Torque-U as an undergrad. Yes, MB told me to use tape and gave a much higher torque for the drive side which I thought was not too much.
