So what's the actual law? If there's a bike lane, you must use it?

I blasted through Manhattan quickly in May after the NYC Bike Tour, and didn't see any bike lanes...but I'm guessing I didn't venture far enough into SoHo.

§ 4-12 (p) – Bicycles
• Bicycle riders must use bike path/lane, if provided, except for access, safety, turns, etc.

The "etc." covers any reason you can think of! :rolleyes:
