Going to install my old Campry aero seatpost on the Colnago Master X Light and need to go with a silver stem. To get the degree on the stem I want, best options look to be the Deda Quattro or one from Velo Orange. Haven't used anything from Velo, but think the understated graphics would go better with the Campy post. Anyone using Velo stems, any comparisons to the Quattro?

out of those two i would definitely vote for the deda, they are the gold standard in stems IMO, and the italian thing works for the 'nago i think.

there is also the polished zero:

and nitto is always a good option too:

The nitto is indeed nice. I like to remove the lettering, makes for a clean look.

Very nice Strong. How do you like the VO? I can't find the Nitto in 120mm, the Deda does have the Italian thing going, but the graphics don't scream classic look, not like the VO.

LOVIN' that VO stem.

I've begged 'em to make it in a 31.8 as I'd have it on all of my bikes, but alas, no.

Rivendell might have the Nitto.

I am very hapy with the VO stem.

No complaints at all.

In re the Nitto - they measure long. A Nitto 120 is closer to a 130. If you want a Nitto and you want a 120, you should be getting the 110.

Or get the VO.

The VO looks so much like the Nitto it would not surprise me if it was Nitto made.

I know there are 120mm Nitto available from these folks. (http://stores.ebay.com/Buy-direct-from-JAPAN/Stem-/_i.html?_fsub=19030205&_sid=90783645&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322)

They have (or have quick access to) all things Nitto in every available variation and I have had nothing but good communication and prompt delivery from them.

When did they start offering 'em? You're welcome. An August 30 blog post mentioned them -- I don't remember seeing them before that.

Yellow Jersey (http://www.yellowjersey.org/) is usually a good source for Nitto stems as well. I haven't bought from Rivendell in a while, but when I did, getting a 12 cm stem from them was a stretch, so to speak.

FWIW In my experience the Nitto stems are 0.5 - 1 cm longer than their stated length, when comparing to stems of the same length from other mfrs.

but I purchased a used Salsa Scandium stem. The original owner took some oven cleaner and semichrome to it. It came out pretty nice. Kind of an organic brushed silvery look. And those are cool stems. Maybe a fun DIY project.

I was going to do that to a Ritchey black WCS stem, but they explicitly said it's a no-no (I asked). Something to do with affecting metal grain and strength and whatnot.

Take that for what it's worth (i.e., if true or not), but I bagged the idea.

Ritchey's supposed to come out with a silver polished/anodized stem this fall, their "Classic" series.

Good news...
Do you know what handlebars will be part of the series?

I'd be suspect of any brand spankin' new product line first appearing on ebay, frankly.

That just seems weird.

In terms of what it looks like, a quick google search yielded this:
