I am running a 9 speed XT with bar-end shifters on my Salsa Fargo. Is there any way to get my Campy 9 speed ergos to work (well) with this setup?

Cheers,

Guy

Thank you. Do they work well?

instead of adding another link, i'll give you some anecdotal evidence... they're pretty crisp when it comes to shifting, you wouldn't know you were using mismatched shifters/rd until you get to that extra click (just set your RD screw and you'll be fine) ;)

I successfully used Campy 9 speed shifters and RD with a Shimano cassette.

It worked just fine. I think the cog spacing on all 9 speed Shimano cassettes is the same, so I think your plan will work.

Campy 10s shifters work great with a shimano RD when using a Hubbub cable connection and 9s shimano casssette/chain. I raced cross last year with this set up. I don't think it will work with a 9s campy shifter and shimano RD unless you use a Jtek. As was mentioned, some people have had good success using a shimano 9s wheel in a campy 9s drivetrain (both shifter and RD campy). In my experience, it was OK, but not good enough for my tastes. YMMV
