Rode two very nice, but quite different centuries this past weekend and the previous one. I've been taking along my GoPro camera in a jersey pocket because the handlebar mount broke. So, instead of video, I get really wide panoramic shots from a very tiny, sturdy, sweat-proof camera. Not the best photos, but it's fun. It's great for group self-portraits, too because of the wide angle.

Anyway, here's a shot from the Tour de Habitat in Albany County. Starts and ends at the Pump Station brew pub (with 2 free pints  ) . Low-key, but well organized ride. We did the 50 miler last year and enjoyed it so much we had to do the full century this year. Most of the climbing seemed to come in the second 25 miles. The last 25 miles were mainly downhill coming back from Thatcher Park.

And here's a shot from this past Saturday's Peak Season Century around Lake George in the Adirondack Park. The ride starts in Lake George, NY and goes up the west side of the lake to Ticonderoga before coming back down the other side. Climbing all day, but only one major climb (Mount Tongue). The last 15-20 miles were harder than I remembered from last year.

Looks like you had 2 great rides. Did anyone collect their 2 pints at the start, or did they all wait untill the ride was over?

:)

Looks like quite a view from that stone wall, too bad the sun wasn't out.

That picture is from Thatcher Park. We actually took a detour to get that picture, because it such a well-known view in the area. [Here's a link (http://gailkort.com/Works/Oils/ASTBigPicture.htm) to a local artist friend's renditions of similar views]

In the distant haze to the right of the picture, you can not quite make out the Albany skyline. The sun would have made for a nicer picture, but the clouds helped make the ride more comfortable. In the foreground is my lovely wife and our two bikes.
