I'm selling my '88 Land Shark Road Shark frame/fork as it's just not getting ridden. The frame/fork has some niks here and there but no dents or dings. Its very clean and the paint if super glossy. Top tube is 57cm, seat tube is 56.5 c-t and the head tube is 142mm. Slawta builds nice bikes. $475 plus actual shipping. SOLD

Conservative paint job. :D

That's worth a bump!

Double bump worthy

Thanks for the bump. I'd be open to a possible trade as well i.e., wheels, Sram Red, and Campy 11 come to mind.

Didn't Mr. Hampsten ride one of these over the Gavia on his way to victory in the 1988 Giro?

He sure did.

Just added some more pics.

I disassembled this last night and cleaned it up. What a great looking Road Shark. Beautiful fork, pump peg and chain hanger, gorgeous lugs, pearl white paint in great shape, what's not to love. And how often does a white Land Shark show up?? Tell me that! :)

One of my favorite bikes. A perfect mix of old and new. Best of luck with the sale--were it my size, I'd be an owner.

Conservative paint job. :D

Which makes it SO MUCH NICER!

Not to mention the lovely build Hoss did on that pretty Land Shark!!

Will the components be going to a new frame?

Nice price. I'd grab it if it fit.

Thanks for the compliment.

Most components are moving over to a Time VXR I just picked up. I've decided to keep one road and one mountain bike and sell everything else. I'll be offering up some nice rain/winter bike parts, a vintage SlingShot mtb frame, Kelly 29er w/ Actiontec fork, Erikson S&S coupled frame, etc.

That said I'm still open to offers or trades for a wheelset.

Somebody please buy this and put me out of my misery

I'm fully thinking about it, just trying to piece the funds together. I hope I don't sleep on it for too long.

I likey...nice rig.

Love the understated look. I am a sucker for regular geometry steel frames. Unfortunately, it is a little too small. Hope it finds a good home.

10-15-2010, 09:31 AM
Still available...

10-22-2010, 03:39 PM
No solid offers yet. I'd sure like to find a good home for it.

10-22-2010, 03:54 PM
Forgot to mention. I'll consider offers for the Ti Litespeed stem, 130mm.

10-22-2010, 04:10 PM
can't believe this is still available...great bike.

someone buy this!

if this were a bit bigger, it would be mine.

I am partial to white bikes and if this was anywhere between a 54 to 56 cm ETT, I would take it off your hands. She's a beauty!!! My 56 ETT bike with a 100 mm stem has me stretched out as far as I can go. I don't think I can spare 1 more cm, unfortunately. I refuse to use anything less than a 100 mm stem. Damn, she would look great in my stable.

Seeing this bike at this price ALMOST makes me regret buying my $300 Atlanta.

This is in great shape for $500. Not to mention that Slawta is the real deal. I suspect that he is the ONLY american builder that can claim a stage win at the Giro.

Price drop, $475.

11-15-2010, 12:10 AM
I wonder if Slawta is one of the builders that is known much more for his brazed joints than lugged.

Any chance that this would have sold already if it was brazed and had one of his crazy paint jobs?

This really is a great price. Good luck and continue to be patient.
