I have a line on cheap Equipe and Cosmic rear wheels with bad rims and very good hubs. It appears to me that the rims are not avialble separately. Anyone know if the rims can be purchased separately and wherre? If not does anyone know if other 24 or 28 hole rims can be easily substituted. Or am I trying to make a silk wheel out of a sow's snoot?

Thanks,

John

Try ebay or check with a dealer for the replacements. You will probably want the spokes, too. Failing that you can break out the old skool wheelsmith calculator and measuring devices and go to town with an appropriate rim that matches the spoke count. Depending on what you have, spokes that could work will be a hurdle, too.

A MAVIC dealer can even check with MAVIC in MASS for sending the wheels to them for rebuild and rim replacement.

Folks on the forum can probably recommend a dealer in your area.

bingo!

not worth it.

they're proprietary wheel systems- replace rather than rebuild.
