okay okay I know this is kinda late in the game but I just went over to cycling.tv and saw the video clip of Nico beating flecha at the last kilometer of Gent-Wevelgem. I think he won the race far and clear. He accelerated and was already in overdrive before the convoy came into view....and after he cleared those vehicles, he continued to accelerate...i think if I remember correctly my high school physics teacher said something to the effect that it takes more energy to accelerate than to just maintaining in the same speed. Anyway IMO, Nico was the strongest rider that day...and this is not just because Senor Jerk said so. :D
