I ride in AZ as the monicker implies. Arms, neck and legs are slathered in sunscreen. My back, however, is
unprotected with my standard jersey. Does anyone know of or use sunprotective cycling clothing. I've thought of riding with a UPF 50 long sleeve rashguard ("surfer shirt") under my bibshorts, has anyone tried this? Seems like it may be hot, though. Appreciate any ideas. Thanks in advance.

solumbra is a fabric producer and Sunprotections (I'll look up the link) makes lots of active clothes. My wife wears the long sleeve jerseys in D.C. summers and survives. She sweats and grumbles a bit, but people in short sleeves sweat and grumble in DC summers.

I know there are companies that make clothing w/ UV protection. For women, I just received a large order from SheBeest of their spring/summer apparel. I ordered jerseys and riding tops; all had UV protection and odor protection labels on them.

Most Hind cycling jerseys provide UV protection. Their Drylete material, which is what they use for the majority of the spring/summer clothing has a UPF rating of 35. This translates to blocking approx. 97% of UV rays. I wore them in the Texas heat and never had any problem with sunburns. Oh, how I miss the Texas heat.

I have read that Ritt, the dye company, sells a product that one can use to treat clothes to get good SPF ratings.
