Why doesn't Serotta offer clear coat over natural titanium like Tom Kellogg? My polished Legend was impossible to keep clean - clear coat would have been perfect. I have, however, heard some people say it "yellows" over time. Thoughts?

I wanted clearcoat over the bare ti on my Serotta, like I have on my Spectrum, but was advised by Serotta that the type of clear coat they use will not adhere well to bare Ti. Keeping the polished Ti looking good isn't that tough though. After each ride I take 60 seconds to lightly wipe the bike down with Pedro's Bike Lust. Takes off surface grime, water bottle spillage etc. Gives me a chance to do a quick inspection too for loose parts and stuff. No big deal.

Summon up the Kahuna, and ask him if he'll post a close up of his Spectrum Ti paint. I think that requires throwing a week long backyard luau and walking over hot coals. If there is anyone that is going to have a sun damaged(?) clear coat it's probably him.
